IMPORTANT: Before flying you must check the DFC forum for the latest maintenance status !!

Any Operational problems must be reported immediately to one of the Maintenance Team. After having logged into the DFC Booking System/Calendar, the next screen gives you the option to "continue" or "ammend user details". This is the time to check all your details are current and correct – the system relies on this as e-mail notification of your account status is an integral feature. The next screen provides you with an overview of the aircraft reservations for the current month. From there you can select to view the following items by clicking on the appropriate button:

- Overview of previous and upcoming months
- Details of the reservations for a particular day
- Your flying account status
- The DFC Forum / discussion page
- Details of your past bookings
- Details of your bookings in the future
- A list of names and contact e-mail / phone numbers for other DFC Pilots

To make a reservation just click on the "Add reservation" button, fill out the form and click on "Submit the reservation". Please remember the date format is mm/dd/yyy and the time format is 24 hours with a colon between the hours and minutes hh:mm. It would be very helpful to fill out the "description" field so other pilots know where you plan to fly. Confirmed bookings are shown by a * on the overview and "yes" on the daily details view. If you have a technical problem during your flight, such as an equipment failure, an entry MUST be made in the log sheet to inform the next pilot what to expect. If the problem affects safety or necessitates grounding of the aircraft, the pilot MUST inform the Manager and Safety / Maintenance Officers and also the next pilot on the booking system. (This is the intention of the list of pilots and e-mail / phone numbers.) See DFC Operating Rules for more details. The Forum is THE PLACE to discuss any aspect of flying and operations of the DFC. You are encouraged to use it!! It is behind the log-in system so unauthorised readers will not have access. Administration of the booking system is carried out by the Club Manager. Please remember that on-line bookings can be amended or deleted by the Club Manager so be sure to check that no alterations have been made. If you see "yes" under the right hand column when you click on the details for the day or a star by the reservation in the calendar overview, you can assume that your booking has been accepted. If an alteration has been made you will normally be notified by e-mail or by phone. The reason for this is that phone call bookings are also accepted and another pilot may be ahead of you in the queue. It is possible for double bookings to be made. In this case the first pilot in the list, by date and time, has priority. If he/she cancels then pilot # 2 will automatically move up. PLEASE NOTE - this feature relies on all Pilots who decide to cancel their booking - for whatever reason - removing it from the system in good time. It would also be very helpful if you make a phone call or e-mail the Manager and, even better, the next pilot in the list. You can book up to 3 months in advance, but do not block book - for example, every Wednesday afternoon - as this is not fair to other members. You will receive e-mail notification every time your account has been updated. Details of your account are available by clicking on the appropriate button at the top left hand side of the calendar summary page. The main advantages are simple access to the aircraft availability together with information on who is flying and whether they would like another member to accompany them.
